Sung Yong Mo

As current vice president of PCM project HQ, he has worked in general construction and construction engineering companies for more than 35 years, participated in big projects in both public and private sectors, and contributed to completing construction projects in success based on his technology, know-how, responsibility, and passion.

He has undertaken as CM or PM in such complex construction projects of large scale as Centerfield in Yeoksam-dong, Seocho Majestar City, Songdo Global Campus of Yonsei University, and the office building of Poongsan Group. As CM or CS in public projects, he performed the role of chief of the project management office and PM in such projects as the construction business of Expo 2012 Yeosu, the remodeling of the 2nd Members’ Office Building and of the Main Building in the National Assembly, the rental office building of government-funded institutions in Sejong-si, the community center in Yongin-si, and Gangneung Ice Arena. He has also given advice on the construction policies to and participated as an expert in such national or local government-related institutions as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation, the Construction Management Association of Korea, Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management, and Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology. As 10th and 11th vice president of the Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management and the chairman of the Policies and Regulations Committee, he gave subject presentations and joined a panel at the policy debates for the settlement and vitalization of construction project management systems, released theses and articles, and participated in research to prepare for the integrated business regulations of construction project management and the system of compensation.

Acknowledged, based on this expertise, for the settlement and vitalization of construction project management systems, the successful completion of public construction projects, and his activities as an adviser and researcher for the country and local government, he has been awarded by the prime minister, the mayor of Seoul, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the administrator of Rural Development Administration, the mayor of Yongin-si, the mayor of Gangneung-si, and many others.

The recent complexification of development projects in the private sector, the conflict and dispute among the participants of projects, and the diverse risks following the changes in the construction environment have steadily raised the level of need for and expectations of PM or CM. Therefore, he intends to optimize himself for the PCM project HQ organization and their system and to maximize the synergy effect of cooperation between organizations, run a Dong Il PCM empowerment program in order to meet the expectations of orderers, secure specified experts, and let the head of HQ and groups take the lead and do their best.
